KIDDERMINSTER theatre fans are invited to a performance of a much-loved Victorian comedy.

The Kidderminster Rose Theatre will open their 2019 proceedings with a production of the classic Oscar Wilde play The Importance of Being Earnest, performed by the Nonentities.

Performances will run from Monday January 28 to Saturday February 2.

The witty play contains some of the most famous lines in the English language, and follows the story of Jack who wishes to marry Algernon’s cousin, the beautiful Gwendolene.

Firstly, he must convince her mother, the fearsome Lady Bracknell, of the respectability of his parents and his past.

But for Jack, this is not as easy as it sounds, having started life abandoned in a handbag at Victoria Station.
