A DAD is raising funds for a bereavement charity in memory of his baby brother.

Marcus Claytor, 31, will be taking part in his seventh boxing event to raise funds for Lullaby Trust, which funds research into preventing unexpected deaths in infancy and supports grieving families.

Marcus said: “I lost a brother very young and I can’t comprehend the heart ache and pain of losing a child. I was three when my brother Daniel died at 12 weeks old. I am fortunate to have had two healthy children who are growing into two wonderful young people.

“Lullaby Trust reduces the number of cot deaths through research and offers a support service for families who are bereaved. I want to raise money to support the charity that helps those who have suffered the most painful loss imaginable.

"The charity is close to my heart and they do amazing work.”

Marcus, who is known in the boxing community as Cassius Claytor, will fight the undefeated Gareth Hall as part of the Night of the Warriors boxing event on February 23.

Their bout will be a rematch and Marcus has vowed to strip off if he loses but still hits his fundraising target of £500.

Marcus said: “I don’t think I have a good chance of beating Gareth, he is a strong man. My aim is to complete all three rounds in the ring and not get knocked out.

“If I lose my fight and raise a minimum of £500, I am committed to doing the 'Full Monty' with Gareth this year. Hopefully this doesn’t put you off donating.”

The Full Monty charity night takes place in Worcester later this year to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.

Night of the Warriors takes place at Tramps nightclub in Worcester on February 23.
