RESIDENTS were warned to stay away from the Cock Hill estate in Rubery as police responded to a knife attack.
Armed police sealed off Cock Hill Lane near to a block of flats in Rubery yesterday evening.
Armed police turned up and attempted to enter a flat on the first floor of Rushmore House.
The lane was closed and people were being advised to stay indoors.
A police spokesman said: "Armed officers raided flats in Cook Hill Lane, Rubery, after we received info suggesting a man wanted over a knife attack was inside.
"They entered Rushmore House at 5.30pm and searched several flats but the man was not found; enquiries continue to locate him."
