Members of the Fire Brigade Society took a step back in time as well as looking to the future when they visited Kidderminster Fire Station.
The enthusiasts were able to compare a fire engine from the 1950s with the station’s latest state-of-the-art appliance, one of 10 which have just joined the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service fleet.
“We are very grateful for the detailed tour around the latest specification pump and to understand the thinking behind the concept,” said the society’s regional administrator Richard Hickman.
“It’s certainly a very capable and well thought-out machine, with some new and innovative features.
“It was also a fantastic opportunity for us to take advantage of the period back-drop with the preserved appliances.
"We very much look forward to the opening of the new Wyre Forest Hub.”
