A PERSHORE woman who self-published her first children’s book after becoming fed up with mess left by dog walkers has now penned a second.

Tracey Bryant, aged 46, was annoyed at the amount of dog poo bags that she was seeing littered in the countryside, and wrote The Dog Poo Fairy as a 'comical moral tale for children', which was published in 2017.

Miss Bryant, a gardener originally from Kent, decided to write the tale about fairies that tidy the hedgerows after some encouragement from her partner Justin Turner.

Miss Bryant said she was so pleased with the sales from her book she wanted to publish a second, which she has called the Wildlife Rescue Fairy.

The book tells the story of Hannah Hollyhock and her adventures on a work experience day with a Wildlife Rescue fairy.

Miss Bryant said: "I wrote the book as I used to work at a Wildlife Rescue centre a few years ago and I love our English wildlife and to get a message across to children.

"To help look after your wildlife by having a little overgrown area in your gardens: and not to leave rubbish lying around for animals to get hurt on.

"Also to always be kind to all animals.

"I will be attending some of the local primary schools in Pershore to read my book and get my message across."

Miss Bryant also asked Ian Johnstone, a talented illustrator and artist who has illustrated drawings for The Battle of Britain Museum in Folkestone Kent, to illustrate the book with eyecatching designs.

The book is available to purchase on Amazon.
