PEOPLE with a passion for the Malverns are being sought to help support the town’s Tourist Information Centre.
Volunteers are needed to work with the TIC’s established team to help greet and guide the tens of thousands of people who visit the centre for help every year.
A pool of up to 12 volunteers is needed to work a few hours a week with slots available during weekday afternoons and at weekends. Volunteers will be supported at all times by trained TIC staff.
Duties will include offering information and advice on things to see and do, places to eat and drink, accommodation, selling souvenirs and generally being a friendly face to welcome visitors.
Experience in a customer service role would be useful but is not essential as training will be given. The deadline for initial applications is Monday, May 6, and anyone interested should apply online at malvernhills.gov.uk/jobs.
Simon Smith, economic development manager for Malvern Hills District Council, said: “There is already a network of passionate volunteers supporting the TICs in Upton and Tenbury and we’re looking to extend the opportunity to people in Malvern.
"This will help support our ambition to offer a comprehensive visitor information service particularly during the busy summer season.
“I’d urge anyone with a passion for the area and a few hours to spare to come and join our excellent team.”
