A POPULAR pub near Chipping Campden has scooped a prestigious award.

The Ebrington Arms has been named as the Gloucestershire Pub and Bar of the Year in the National Pub and Bar Awards.

The pub, run by Claire and Jim Alexander who also own The Killingworth Castle in Wootton, now goes on to the next stage of the competition, when it will compete against all the other county winners for the prestigious National Pub & Bar of the Year title.

The award is the latest success for the May Lane-based pub after being awarded the Gloucestershire Dining Pub of the Year 2019 by the Good Pub Guide.

And it also follows a year in which the the couple have focussed on making their businesses more sustainable and organic, being recognised by the Organic Served Here awards scheme.

Tristan O’Hara, from the National Pub & Bar Awards, said: “The Ebrington Arms is just one of those beautiful, quintessential Cotswolds pubs that continues to raise the bar.

"The investment in the team, as well as in the property itself, is testament to the passionate operation going on at this pub.

"The events schedule is enticing, and the menus are intricately thought through - a worthy winner.”
