A BLOCKLEY woman has received her British Empire Medal (BEM).
Mary Elizabeth Doreen Robinson, received the British Empire Medal from the Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire Edward Gillespie OBE yesterday in Blockley Parish Church, St Peter & St Paul.
Doreen, known as the organist and choirmaster for the Blockley and Bourton on the Hill, received the BEM for services to music over a period of 60 plus years.
The BEM has been well received as Mrs Robinson is held in much affection and respect by the choir and congregation, and the wider community in North Cotswolds.
