A FARM in Bromsgrove is throwing its gates open for free this weekend to educate people about rural life.

Lizzie's Farm in Chadwich is taking part in 'Open Farm Sunday' on June 9, opening from 10am-4pm.

Visitors will have the chance to meet lots of animals and learn more about life on the farm from 'Farmer John'.

Entry to the farm is free, but the family would welcome donations to MacMillan Cancer Support.

Drinks and homemade cakes will be available in the tearoom and there will be a barbecue serving homegrown Highland beef burgers and pork hot dogs all day.

The farm's Lizzie Monk said: "'Open Farm Sunday' is a lovely family day out - we can't wait to introduce everyone to our animals.

"We feel it is an important day for us to show how we look after the countryside and the animals that depend upon us - it's also lots of fun!"

Visitors are asked to leave their dogs at home, as they may upset the other animals on the farm.

The farm's address is Chadwich Manor Farm, Chadwich, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, B61 0QG.
