NINETY members of the combined Rock Choirs of Worcester, Droitwich and Tewksbury gathered at St Stephen’s Church, Barbourne, on Saturday to mark the centenary of Save the Children and to raise funds for the charity's Malvern branch.

The choir entertained the audience with a varied programme including Uptown Girl, Africa, Beyond the Sea and Don’t Stop Me Now, as well as solos by Nikki Thompson, John Bennett, Clive Milward and Anna Taylor.

Andrea Bright, chair of Save the Children Malvern Branch said: “ The concert was a huge success raising almost £2,000

“Whether you are a parent, grandparent, godparent, step parent, aunt or uncle, you can all relate to children and understand their need for care and protection.

"Save the Children has aided and helped children for the last 100 years all over the world."
