A new flood warning has been issued for Herefordshire.

The river Lugg at Lugwardine has risen after heavy rain.

Flooding is now affecting low lying land and roads next to the river south of Leominster from Stoke Prior to Mordiford.

Other places that may be affected include Bodenham, Lugwardine and Hampton Bishop.

More rain is forecast over the next 24 hours.

The Environment Agency expects river levels to remain high until tomorrow (Saturday), but is monitoring the situation.

Avoid using low lying roads and footpaths near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water.

The risk of flooding remains along the river Frome from Bromyard to Hereford.

Other places that may be affected include Bishops Frome and Yarkhill.

The Environment Agency expects river levels to rise until 6pm today.

Possible flooding along the river Leadon may affect Ledbury, Much Marcle, Staunton and Tibberton.

A brook has broken its banks at Upleadon Court, near Ledbury.

There has been 29mm of rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours at Credenhill (the average for the whole of June in the Hereford area is 66mm).

The Met Office says there will be some bright or sunny spells today but scattered showers will linger, and could be heavy.

It will be mostly dry tonight.

We will have a dry start on Saturday, with heavy rain later.

More showers on Sunday, with a risk of thunder in some places.
