RESIDENTS and staff at a nursing home took a stumble down a rabbit hole and found themselves in Wonderland for a day.

The Lawns Residential and Nursing Home gave a huge thank you to everyone who joined residents and staff at the Kempsey home last Saturday for their Mad Hatter’s Tea party.

On this very important date there was a huge raffle, garden games, cream teas, a tombola, crafts, lots of fancy dress and more. The appearance of the White Rabbit and Cheshire Cat were a big hit with the residents and visiting children. People from every generation enjoyed the afternoon together.

Joy Hoskins, the activities co-ordinator at The Lawns, who orchestrated the event said “Despite the weather, the afternoon brought lots of laughter and we raised a fantastic £265. This will be put towards the building of our bar in the first floor lounge. Thank you to everyone who attended for all your support.”

The next event is Seaside Day on Saturday July 20.

Please do give the home a call on 01905 821388 or check the Facebook page for all the details. The team can’t guarantee the weather, but you can have a paddle, make sandcastles, enjoy candyfloss and ice creams and share lots of seaside memories with the residents.
