STAFF at a Kidderminster computer company have raised an impressive sum of money for local charities and services over the past six years.

OGL Computer, which is one of Wyre Forest’s largest local employers, have taken part in a number of fundraisers, including sponsored walks, dress down days and bake-off competitions, and have raised nearly £130,000 for charity.

The IT specialists company selects a main charity every year, with this year being Macmillan Cancer Support, who invested £750,000 into Worcestershire cancer services last year.

Staff have previously taken part in fundraisers including the intrepid Wolf Run, and have donated to charities St Richard's Hospice and Cure Leukaemia among others.

Cindy Phillips, Marketing Manager from OGL said: “It’s important to us and our staff that we support charities and local good causes. Charity is a very personal thing to each individual and that’s why we try to support as many causes that are important to our staff as possible.

"In 2018 we lost 3 highly valued members of staff which is why we chose to support Macmillan who offer such amazing support to individuals and families who are facing cancer and other terminal illnesses.”

Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising Manager for Worcestershire, Sarah Diston said: “Macmillan doesn’t receive government funding so to have the support of OGL Computer is fantastic because we rely on donations to help support our local cancer services.

"Last year we invested £750,000 into our Worcestershire cancer services.

“The money raised by OGL Computer will make a big difference to people living with, and affected by, cancer in Worcestershire. Every penny really does make a difference. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness to the team at OGL about our services and where they can go to get the support they or their families and friends may need."
