A MAN from Rednal who stole more than £50,000 worth of mobile phones from EE stores has been jailed.

Leon Cobley, of Oak Close, burgled the EE store in Vicar Street, Kidderminster, at around 3am on Saturday, June 17, 2017.

The 47-year-old was arrested on July 24, 2017, and was bailed pending further enquiries.

He was arrested again in the early hours of August 1 last year for dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs when he failed to stop for police.

On September 7, Cobley burgled another EE store in Stamford high street, Lincolnshire, this time taking mobile phones to the value of £23,260.

He appeared at Hereford Crown Court on Monday (June 24) after pleading guilty to both burglaries. He was also found guilty of dangerous driving.

Cobley was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison and was disqualified from driving for 31 months and 3 weeks.
