BEWDLEY book enthusiasts can explore a hand-picked selection of fiction, non-fiction and more at a new shop.

Wyre Forest Books, on Load Street, opened its doors last Thursday, June 20, an independent shop which offers niche books that customers may not have come across.

The new store also sells arts and crafts books and materials, as well as a range of Whittards teas and gifts.

Coffee and tea will also be served on selected days for visitors as they browse, and the shop has a special children's section in store.

The shop owner, Nick Farress, hopes to host local book groups in store, as well as book reading events.

Nick said: "The shop has been very well received by local people so far. We have already had a number of Bewdley-based authors visit. It has been quite a successful week.

"People have said it's really nice to have a book shop back in the town.

"We stock mostly new books, and also take book orders from customers.

The owner also says an order was placed for a book of Syrian recipes.

He added: "We want to provide interesting books that customers may not have come across."

"We also have a leaning towards nature and wildlife books."

The shop will also be getting its own website within the next few weeks, where people will be able to purchase books and gifts online.
