POLICE are appealing to the public to identify two men seen on CCTV walking past the house of fatal stab victim Desmond Wooding.

Detectives believe these men may have information vital to the murder investigation launched into Mr Wooding’s death. The footage was taken on the evening of Sunday, June 23.

Detective Chief Inspector Carl Moore said: “Desmond, an 80 year old man with severe mobility restrictions was found in his own home in Vines Lane in Droitwich on Monday morning, having been stabbed to death.

“I would urge members of the public to think back to that weekend, what they were doing, and whether or not they saw or heard anything suspicious.

“It is likely that people living in and around The Vines saw these two men who themselves may have seen or heard something or have some information that can help us with our investigation into Desmond’s tragic death in which he was stabbed.

“We continue to support his family at this time and are committed to bringing those responsible to justice.”

“We would ask the public to have a close look at these images of these two men; one who is a young white man with dark hair wearing a dark hooded jacket with white sleeve stripes and was talking on a mobile phone.

“The other man has balding, light brown hair and was wearing a light grey long sleeved hooded top and wearing blue shorts.

“Both men are likely to be local to Droitwich and walk past the scene of the murder in the evening between 8.45pm and 9pm and therefore may have significant information which may assist our investigation further.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
