POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a two-car collision on a Kidderminster to Stourport road on Monday (July 15).

A male driver and a female passenger were taken to hospital with serious injuries following the crash on the A451 Minster Road, which happened just before 1pm.

The crash involved a green Land Rover Freelander and a blue Skoda Octavia.

Firefighters from Kidderminster and Stourport Fire Stations attended, alongside West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service.

The male driver of the Skoda was treated for serious injuries by an ambulance crew and taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

A woman, who was a front-seat passenger in the Skoda, was treated for potentially serious injuries and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the Freelander was uninjured.

The road was closed both ways following the incident, which caused heavy delays.

Drivers were advised to take an alternative route following the incident.

Enquiries are currently ongoing, but police would like to speak with any witnesses to the incident or people who saw the vehicles and the manner in which they were being driven prior to the collision.
