RESIDENTS are being encouraged to have their say on potential changes to the Malvern Wells Conservation Area.

As part of a review, Malvern Hills District Council is proposing to separate the existing conservation area in two - one for Malvern Wells itself and a separate one for Little Malvern.

The Malvern Wells Conservation Area was originally designated in 1973 as an ‘area of special architectural and/or historic interest’, and was extended in 1995 to include Little Malvern.

The consultation starts on Monday, July 22, and runs until the start of September.

On Thursday, July 25, a public meeting is being held at the Wyche Institute, Old Wyche Road, at 6pm to explain the proposals.

Cllr David Harrison, portfolio holder for planning and infrastructure at the council, said: “It is vital to consistently review the areas of conservation in our district in order to preserve their history, character and beauty for years to come. We urge residents to have their say and to come along to the meeting.”
