A PARTY in the park to raise money for Bromyard's playing fields was well-supported by the town, organisers have said.
Donations are still coming in, but it's believed that the amount raised could top £2,000.
The party on Saturday, August 17 aimed to raise money to maintain, repair and install new equipment for the town's young people.
Organised by the Kempson Players committee, there was live music, trade stands and arts and crafts to keep the children entertained.
"The sun shone, the music was played and everyone was in a festival mood, but without the help of a lot of people, who gave their time free, this would not have taken place," organisers said.
"Special thanks must go to the local artists, Bromyard Youth Club, Bromyard Scaffolding who built the stage, Café on the Corner for refreshments, Lments of Sound DJs, the companies who kindly donated prizes and, of course, to all the wonderful people who came and supported us."
Kempson Players was given to the town in 1948 and is the only playing field in the town.
