A DRIVING instructor has shared video footage of a dangerous driver tailgating his car on the A456 towards Kidderminster.

Carl Brookes, of Carl Brookes Driving School, was driving home from a lesson in Bewdley on Thursday (September 19) when he noticed the black Jaguar driving close behind.

"It came up really fast and then backed off," said Carl, who has been a driving instructor for 12 years. "It kept veering to the side as if it was going to overtake even though there's no room for overtaking on that road.

"I could see he was doing something in his car and not paying attention at all. At one point the driver had both hands off the wheel.

"He kept driving up close then backing off as if he was trying to intimidate me. It was quite aggressive. Thankfully I didn't have a learner in the car. This went on for two or three minutes."

The car remains behind Carl's vehicle as it passes West Midlands Safari Park and continues up Bewdley Hill towards Kidderminster.

He added: "I've had people tailgating my car during lessons in the past but that's the worst I've seen in my time as a driving instructor."

The footage has been passed on to police and The Shuttle approached West Mercia Police for comment.
