Redditch Philatelic Society is holding its first Stamp & Postcard Market on Thursday, October 3.

A number of dealers have been invited and stamps collected for charity are also being sold to raise money for the Alexandra Hospital League of Friends.

Collectors of all types of stamps, postal history and postcards will be able to search for something of interest.

Stamp collecting is the world’s most popular collecting hobby and one which anyone, of any age, can take part.

In recent years postal history, the study of letters and other material which has passed through the post, has become popular, especially since it can be combined with photographs and other documents, to become a study of social history.

Postcards have been a popular collecting hobby for many years, but interest has increased with the internet enabling cards to be sourced from all over the world with ease. Everyone is welcome to come along to the Stamp & Postcard Market at The Bridge Church Community Hall, Evesham Road, Headless Cross, Redditch B97 4JX from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Entry is free and refreshments are provided.

* Redditch Philatelic Society’s regular meetings take place on the first and third Thursday each month from September to June in The Bridge Church Community Hall (formerly St Luke’s Memorial Hall), Evesham Road, Headless Cross, Redditch B97 4JX at 7.30pm.

Visitors are always made welcome. More information about the Society can be found on our website: www.redditch-philatelic.org.uk
