SAFETY concerns have been raised over a "30 foot long puddle" outside the Co-op supermarket in Kidderminster.

Customer Robin Pearson says the car park at the front of the store in Franche Road becomes flooded every time it rains, making it difficult to access the store by car.

Mr Pearson said: "There's obvious drainage issues in the Co-op car park. There's a mini roundabout which has disappeared underwater.

"The puddle is 30 to 40 feet long and five or six inches deep. It's a health and safety issue.

"I've spoken to staff at the shop and was assured it would be passed on to a manager but that was two or three weeks ago now.

"Every time it rains it floods again.

"We're into the autumn now and if it's left like this much longer we might see Torvill and Dean skating around on the car park.

"What happens if it freezes over and some poor little lady slips and breaks her hip? It's not good enough."

The entrance to the car park off Wilton Avenue is still flooded from the heavy rain at the start of this week.

Midcounties Co-op has been approached for comment.
