VISITORS will be able to see an ancient county craft in action next weekend as a cider producer hosts an open day.
Fair Oak Cider in the Golden Valley still make their products using a horse-drawn mill, which they believe is the only one still functioning in the UK.
The mill, in Bacton, has been in safe hands since 2014 when a Gypsy Cob was taken for a trial, bringing to an end the 100-year hiatus since cider was last made in this way on the site.
Entry to the open weekend between 10am and 4pm on October 26 and 27 is free, but owner Hilary Engel said donations to the Laurie Engel Fund, which has now raised about £1.2 million for Teenage Cancer Trust, are welcome.
