THE stories of family life and the wider community in Belbroughton have been brought to life in a new book.
The book, by author Bronwen Griffiths who lived in Belbroughton in the 60s and 70s, also explores the social changes of this era.
Both real and fantastical, it is a collection of flash fictions exploring the author’s childhood in the 1960s.
She said: "Once I lived in a village with a cherry tree, a stone church, five pubs and a factory that made scythes.
"What I remember about this village, apart from these things, is the sharp bend at the bottom of the hill, the neighbour with the sunset-coloured hair and loud geese, and the old mumbling man who cleaned the pavements."
Bronwen, the author of two previously published novels – A Bird in the House, and Here Casts No Shadow, and a book of short fictions, Not Here, Not Us – Stories of Syria, will be coming to talk at the Belbroughton History Society on Wednesday, November 20, as part of the group's normal meeting.
She will be discussing the book and taking question from people.

It is available to buy from from Silverhill Press, priced £7.99.
