REDDITCH residents are being invited to a thrilling production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical Cats.

Redditch Operatic Society (ROS) will be bringing this ground-breaking show to the Palace Theatre stage for the first time ever.

Based on TS Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, this was the show which introduced the infamous song ‘Memory’ to the world, and has been seen by countless millions across the globe.

It tells the story of a tribe of cats who come together at the Jellicle Ball to decide who amongst them will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.

Kelly Mitchell, ROS committee member and cast member, said: “ROS are celebrating their Diamond Anniversary this year, and what a show to do it with!

"Rehearsals are absolutely buzzing at the moment and we can’t wait to perform this incredible musical for our audiences.

“It’s non-stop from start to finish with singing, dancing, performing, face paint and lots of claws."

She added: "From the minute you step into the auditorium you will have no choice but to be immersed in the world of Cats."

The show runs from November 19 to 23 (including a Saturday matinee).

Tickets are available via the Palace Theatre; pop in to the box office, call 01527 65203 or book online at redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk/whats-on/all-shows/cats.
