KIDDERMINSTER is set to shine at the annual Christmas lights switch-on to kickstart the festive season.

The event will see the town centre burst into life with lights, music and dancing to welcome the Christmas spirit on Saturday, November 23.

There will be a full programme of entertainment with a focus on home grown talent will be taking place from 2pm on the day outside Kidderminster Town Hall.

Schools including Wyre Forest School and dance groups will be joining the varied lineup.

During the afternoon of festive fun there will also be a chance to win tickets for the forthcoming pantomime ‘Cinderella’ at the town hall.

The event is presented by Kidderminster Town Council and organised in partnership with Michael Neri Theatrical.

The Lights will be turned on by Kidderminster Mayor David Ross at 5.30 pm.

Councillor Ross said: "I am honoured to be switching on this year’s brand new Christmas Lights.

"This is just the start of an exciting, fun packed programme of events organised by Kidderminster Town Council."
