A group of local young musicians will be taking to the stage at 6pm on Sunday, December 8, when they perform live at Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club. Members of the public are encouraged to go along to support

the young people.

Aged between 11 and 18 years, they will be taking part in an end of term gig following ten weeks of preparation at Bromsgrove Rock School. The youngsters meet every Saturday morning at St Peter’s Catholic

First School in Rock Hill for sessions run by professional musician Brian Hoggard, supported by guitarist Loz Ruston and vocal coach Givvi Flynn.

Many of the musicians have now been working together for over two years and have significantly developed their skills base.

The youngsters are grouped into bands and will be performing a selection of songs including Teenage Dirtbag – Wheatus; Boulevard of Broken Dreams – Green Day; Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana; Youth Gone Wild – Skid Row; Rock You Like a Hurricane – Scorpions; and Sweet Child of Mine – Guns ‘n’ Roses.

There will also be some original compositions from the teenage band Limitless.

Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club is a licensed venue with plenty of free parking. There is no entry charge for the gig but people are asked to make a donation which will

help provide funding for the musicians to perform at community events in 2020.

This year members of Bromsgrove Rock School provided live entertainment at the Blackwell Festival and Primrose Hospice summer fete in June.  They are also supporting this years’ Primrose Hospice Santa Fun Run, with performances on stage at the Arrow Valley Lake event in Redditch on December 1.
