PEOPLE looking for a special Christmas secret Santa would do well to look in one of the many charity shops in Ludlow and Tenbury and the other market towns.

A campaign has been launched to encourage people to choose their Secret Santa gifts from their local charity shop in a bid to reduce waste and help good causes everywhere. The campaign aims to combat materialism in favour of reuse and upcycling by encouraging the purchase of pre-loved items as gifts.

“With Christmas just around the corner, now is the time to be Be a ‘Good Cause Santa Claus’ this year and choose your present from your local charity shop,” said Charity Retail Association’s Chief Executive, Robin Osterley.

“This is a great opportunity to add some creativity to the annual festive tradition of Secret Santa.

“The possibilities are endless, there are many unique treasures waiting to be found in charity shops.

“Not only would you be helping your local economy by shopping locally, you would be helping the environment by purchasing pre-loved items and donating to worthwhile causes.”
