FLOOD advice hubs set up in Bewdley, Tenbury, Worcester and Upton have supported 240 people in the last week.

The hubs were set up by Worcestershire County Council, including one at Bewdley Library, to support those worst affected by flooding.

People have been able to access advice about permits for using larger vehicles at household recycling centres and how to access money.

Leader of Worcestershire County Council, Councillor Simon Geraghty, said: “We have seen a positive response to the flood information hubs across the county and advice has been given to over 200 people.

“I have visited both Tenbury and Bewdley information hubs and met with the staff who are on hand to provide support.

"It’s been fantastic to hear how the hubs have been able to help people with advice on how to access finance and offer advice for people experiencing extremely difficult circumstances.

“These hubs will continue to provide practical advice and support for people affected by the recent floods.”

The hubs will remain open over the coming weeks to assist resident’s recovery following the recent floods, which saw the River Severn in Bewdley reach near record levels.

In addition to the information hubs, a dedicated flood support line is available on 01905 845676 and people can email floodadvice@worcestershire.gov.uk for advice.
