CRIMINAL gangs appear to be targetting people near a cash point on a quiet street in Alcester.

Police in the town have said that two men were seen hanging around the cash point in Bleachfield Street.

officers said that a caller noticed the men were following people that had just used the machine.

One of the males has been described as Eastern European or Asian, 5ft 6ins, mid 20s, short black hair, moustache and beard, wearing a light coloured hoodie with ‘Lakers’ on it, black jogging bottoms, bum bag, and black trainers with white soles.

The second male had a moustache that extended to the sideburns, was wearing black hoodie with white stripes down the arm, black body warmer over the top which had a blue panel, grey jogging bottoms and black trainers with a white sole.

The incident happened on January 27, around 2pm.

The Advertiser has previously reported that callous thieves were repeatedly targeting people on the same street.

There have been several incidents were people have been approached or had money stolen form them.

One was an elderly man who was knocked to the floor and had £500 stolen in broad daylight.

The man was using the cashpoint when he was barged out of the way by a woman who then 'fell' against the cashpoint.

During this distraction £500 was withdrawn from the machine.

The woman then ran off down Bleachfield Street.

Police described her as Eastern European, with long brown hair, under a baseball cap.

At the time a spokesman from the police said there had been a number of other offences at the cashpoint.

Anyone with any information about the most recent incident is being urged to call police on 101.
