A HOLIDAY park singer from Kidderminster put on a show in his street to entertain neighbours.

After being let go from his job at a park in North Wales due to the coronavirus outbreak, Joseph Griffiths took his act to his front garden to lift spirits during the coronavirus lockdown.

Neighbours in Avocet Drive stood on their doorsteps and driveways to enjoy the hour-long show, which was live-streamed on Facebook on Friday evening.

Joseph told The Shuttle: "I was sat at home thinking about how I missed singing and thought I could make people happy who have been stuck indoors.

"The past few days have been quite miserable. A lot of people are at work and of a night people just don't know what to do with themselves.

"At first I thought it would be good to do a Facebook Live, but then it attracted a bit of an audience.

"It turned into a bit of a street party. People were sitting on their drives watching. I made sure everyone was keeping two metres apart from each other though.

The show featured songs from the likes of Olly Murs, Neil Diamond and Stevie Wonder.

Joseph added: "Everyone was just enjoying themselves and it spread a bit of love and happiness around Facebook as well. It was a lot of fun.

"At the end, people were shouting across to me saying same time next week!"

A video on Facebook of Joseph's outdoor gig has since been watched by more than 26,000 people.

Joseph said: "It's been crazy seeing the response it's got.

"I'm just a guy from Kidderminster so my videos normally only get around 100 views but it's had hundreds of people sharing it. I couldn't believe it."
