A PUB in Bewdley will turn blue during the Clap for our Carers tribute tonight as a thank you to NHS workers on the frontline of the coronavirus crisis.

The Real Ale Tavern in Load Street will be lit up at 8pm on Thursday (April 9) as a show of solidarity to staff risking their lives during the outbreak.

Manager Ian Billing, who runs the pub with husband Daryl, said: "We are going to light up the pub during the Clap for Carers to show our support for the NHS.

"We saw the landmarks in London etc being lit up and we thought it would be nice as we're right in the centre of Bewdley and quite a focus in the town to show that same support here.

"We'll be live-streaming it on Facebook tonight and the pub will stay blue every night after."

The Real Ale Tavern, which is owned and operated by Black Country Ales, will be live-streaming the moment on Facebook.
