KFC has reopened its drive-thru in Kidderminster as the fast food chain moves ahead with its plan to resume trading across the UK.

The KFC branch in Stourport Road reopened its drive-thru on Wednesday, and customers wasted no time in flocking to the restaurant to get their fried chicken fix, reporting long queues on opening day.

However, KFC is still urging customers to opt for delivery where possible.

Reopened drive-thrus are said to be following stringent new social distancing and safety procedures, including smaller kitchen teams to help observe social distancing, increased hand washing and surface cleaning, new signage and floor stickers for delivery drivers and contactless handover of food, with contactless payment preferred.

The Kidderminster branch is also offering a limited menu to help the smaller team avoid switching kitchen stations.

The drive-thru is trading from midday to 9pm.
