THE car park at West Midland Safari Park in Bewdley has opened as a mobile testing unit for coronavirus.
Land off the A456 Kidderminster Road is being used as a drive-through test centre in an effort to boost the national testing capacity.
The unit is offering self-administered tests for essential workers on an appointment only basis.
Those tested will then receive their results within a few days.
The site is being operated by the Department of Health and Social Care and will run from Tuesday, May 19 until Friday, May 22.
West Midland Safari Park closed on March 19 in response to the coronavirus outbreak and bosses have said the park will only reopen when it is safe to do so.
More than 100 staff at the safari park are currently furloughed.
