MCDONALD'S fans in Kidderminster will have to wait for their Big Mac fix, after the fast food giant announced a full list of restaurants reopening this week.

Branches at Worcester Road and Weavers Wharf in Kidderminster are not amongst the national list of restaurants to relaunch for drive-thru customers, as the company slowly reopens from the coronavirus lockdown.

The list, published on Thursday, shows restaurants set to reopen for drive-thru and deliveries are located mainly in London and the south east of England.

They will offer a limited menu between 11am and 10pm and contactless payment is also being encouraged.

Staff will be temperature checked before each shift and the number of workers on each site will be reduced to ensure social distancing, McDonald's bosses said.

Perspex screens are installed at all drive-thru windows and staff will be given protective equipment, the company added.

While Wyre Forest may be missing out on the McDonald's UK relaunch, KFC in Stourport Road has already reopened for drive-thru and takeaway, and the Starbucks next door is set to welcome customers back this Friday.

The KFC drive-thru is trading from midday to 9pm and Starbucks will open from 8am to 4pm, both offering limited menus.
