WORKS to improve transport links in the Churchfields area of Kidderminster will see roads closed from this Bank Holiday weekend.

The roadworks are taking place at the Horsefair and Broad Street junction as part of the wider Churchfields Urban Highway Improvement School.

The Worcestershire County Council project started in October to support the delivery of new homes planned for the area.

The scheme aims to improve traffic flow and access in and around the Churchfields area and includes converting part of Churchfields into an A-road, redesigning the gyratory at Horsefair, making Blackwell Street one way and creating a new link road access from the A456 Ringway roundabout through to Churchfields.

There will also be a dedicated left in left out junction, providing access to St Marys Street off the Ringway.

To allow the works at the Horsefair and Broad Street to progress, full road closures and diversions will be in place over the Bank Holiday weekend.
