THIS year's Worcester Festival is still set to continue despite the coronavirus crisis.

The festival, due to be held in August, has been rebranded as "Worcester Festival 2020- Virtually the Same" and will feature some socially distanced live events as well as virtual events, some live-streamed and some pre-recorded.

Chris Jaeger, festival director, said: "With events around the world being cancelled, it looked like there was no hope for the 2020 Festival, until we started talking and have reached a very exciting solution! There will be a Worcester Festival this year."

Theatrical events, such as story-telling, puppet shows, music and theatre performances, and competitions, everything from cooking to colouring are a few of the events to also form part of this year's calendar.

Mr Jaeger added: "We genuinely believe that we can involve huge numbers of organisations and individuals, making the Festival more inclusive than ever."
