AN engagement ring was among a hoard of sentimental jewellery stolen from elderly residents in a shocking daylight burglary in Stourport.

Heartless thieves targeted the house in Lower Lickhill Road while the elderly occupants were at home between 10am and 10.45am on Tuesday, July 28.

The unknown burglars stole cash and 10 items of jewellery with high sentimental value, including an engagement ring, a diamond ring and several gold necklaces.

A spokesman for Wyre Forest Police said: "The offence has taken place in daylight hours at a busy time on the road.

"We are appealing to the public for information in relation to this crime to help us in our ongoing investigation."

Police have released a list of the stolen items in an effort to stop the jewellery from being sold on - and hopefully returned to their rightful owner.

Items stolen include:

  • One engagement ring - two stone twist
  • One dress ring - small white stones with sapphire in the middle
  • One dress ring with four sapphires
  • One patterned gold ring
  • One eternity ring - diamonds all around
  • One gold heart necklace 
  • One gold necklace with a heart
  • One gold necklace with stones
  • One gold chain and bracelet
  • One twisted gold chain - very glittery
