THESE are some of the latest Herefordshire cases heard by magistrates.

Benjamin Jack Wood, 26, of Whitecross Road, Hereford, admitted assaulting an paramedic acting in the exercise of her duties in Hereford on July 12.

Wood was fined £100 and ordered to pay compensation of £100. He must also pay costs of £185 and a £34 victim surcharge.

John Kenneth Stancer, 43, of Bateman Close, Shobdon, admitted failing to provide a breath sample to police without reasonable excuse in Orleton on March 1.

Stancer was made subject to a 12 month community order and disqualified from driving for 36 months. He must pay costs of £135 and a £90 victim surcharge.

Matthew James Gillespie, 32, of Sherbourne Close, Hereford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in the city's Commercial Road on July 11.

He also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence order made in August last year.

Gillespie was fined a total of £80 and was ordered to pay costs of £95 and a £34 victim surcharge.

James Oliver Hancocks, 20, of Batchfields, Bishops Frome, was banned from the roads after admitting a drink-driving offence on July 12.

The court heard Hancocks had 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was caught behind the wheel of a black Vauxhall Astra on Carter Grove in Hereford. The legal limit is 35.

Hancocks was fined £300 and disqualified from driving for 17 months. He must also pay costs of £135 and a £34 victim surcharge.

Keith James Perkins, 52, of no fixed address, admitted intentionally causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage to property belonging to another person and committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge.

The court heard Perkins damaged a fence panel, a washing line, a glass top table, flower beds and a greenhouse to the value of £500 on June 17.

Perkins was ordered to pay compensation of £500 and costs of £75.

Ryan James Hendry, 34, of Chester Close, Hereford, admitted a drug driving offence, driving without insurance, and driving without a licence on Campbell Road in Hereford on January 28.

He also admitted driving without a licence or insurance on Ryeland Street, Hereford, on January 22.

The court heard Hendry had 607 microgrammes of cocaine metabolite benzoylecgonine per litre of blood when he was tested on January 28. The legal limit is 50.

Hendry was fined a total of £360, disqualified from driving for 12 months, and received six penalty points. He must pay costs of £200 and a £32 victim surcharge.

Philip Meredith Jones, 61, of Temple Lane, Kington, was banned from the roads after he admitted drink-driving and driving without insurance in The Square, Kington on July 11.

The court heard Jones had 92 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath when he caught behind the wheel of a Kia Sportage.

Jones was fined a total of £553 and disqualified from driving for two years. He must also pay costs of £135 and a £55 victim surcharge.

Kiah Longbottom, 28, of Elmdale, Ewyas Harold, admitted drug-driving after she was caught behind the wheel while over the limit on December 29.

The court heard Longbottom had 7.7 microgrammes of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood when she was stopped on Belmont Road in Hereford. The legal limit is two.

Longbottom was fined £150 and disqualified from driving for three years. She must also pay costs of £50 and a £32 victim surcharge.

John Charles Wood, 74, of Sunset Yard, Kington, admitted drink-driving on Barons Cross road in Leominster on May 9.

The court heard Wood had 46 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath when he was tested by police.

Wood was fined £150 and disqualified from driving for 12 months. He must also pay costs of £135 and a £34 victim surcharge.
