AS cooler weather sets in across the region, The Birmingham Whisky Club is inviting people to keep out the cold at their winter event.

The city's only whisky tasting company has teamed up with award-winning brands from all over the world to present a line up of events taking place throughout October, November and December.

The season kicks off with the club's first 'Desserts and Dram's' event on Friday October 13, where five Islay whiskies will be expertly matched with five sourdough doughnuts from artisanal bakers, Crosstown Doughnuts.

For a more savory experience, Dave Andrews (William Grant & Sons) will be matching a selection of different Scotch whiskies to a range of game-based dishes at Harborne venue, The Plough, on Wednesday October 25.

To take in some sights from the water (Birmingham has more canals than Venice) George Wills, manager at Kilchoman Whisky, will be presenting a wide range of drams at 'Whisky On The Water', taking place on Away 2 Dine (one of Brindley Place's dining boats) on Friday November 3.

The boat will tour around Gas Street Basin and beyond whilst passengers sample in five of the best whiskies from the brand's award-winning range.

Amy Seton, owner of The Birmingham Whisky Club, said: “I am excited to present this season of fun and informative tasting events.

"Winter presents the perfect time to warm up with a dram, so we're pleased to present a range of events covering brilliant brands and unique experiences to encourage the informed imbibers of Birmingham to try something new."

The club is hosting 11 events featuring products from Scotland, Sweden, America, Japan, India and Taiwan over 'A Whisky Winter'.

Tickets for these events range from £25 to £45.
