FIVE RUNNERS from Dudley Kingswinford (DK) Running Club took part in the final Rock ‘n’ Roll half marathon event in Liverpool on Sunday 24th October.

The event has been in the calendar for a number of years but 2021 would be the final time for the multiple race event in the City of Liverpool.

Starting at the Royal Albert Dock, the half marathon course takes in some of the city’s most iconic buildings and cultural landmarks including the famous Liver Building, The Beatles Statue, The Cavern Club, Chinese Arch, Penny Lane and Sefton Park before the home straight on the promenade alongside the River Mersey, finishing at the Liverpool Arena on the waterfront.

Richard Tonks completed the course in 1:35.48, followed by Andrew Robinson-Morris in 1:56.58 and wife Jayne Robinson-Morris in 3:09.44. Lorraine Wassell and Stephen Marsh stayed together on the course and finished in times of 3:28.16 and 3:28.18 respectively.

DK Running Club meets at Dudley Kingswinford Rugby Club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Groups leave for runs at 6pm and 7pm with a range of paces to suit everyone. There are also Sunday morning runs for those who want to run longer distances. The club caters for all running abilities, from beginners to regular runners, and is open to new members who are welcome to try out a test session. If interested, send an email to dkrunning@mail.com with your current pace and distance and the club will pair you with a suitable running group.
