STOURBRIDGE assistant boss Jon Ford said he was proud of his players after their battling draw with Shaw Lane.

The Glassboys showed their fighting spirit against the promotion hopefuls to halt a run of back-to-back defeats.

Luke Benbow levelled in the second half for the hosts who then piled on the pressure but couldn't find a winner.

Ford said "Individually, as players, we're as good as any side in this league.

"Today was all about sticking together and becoming a team. moving forwards, that's what we have to do.

"When you get the Stourbridge fans behind you, and they clapped them off today, it shows the effort they put in.

"I'm proud of them today, and that may be the first time I can say that this season. They really stuck together and put a performance in.

"It was spirited. We're a bit unlucky to go behind, it took one or two deflections before it went in.

"After that I think we've bossed it. Don't get me wrong, they have had a few chances as well but I think we applied ourselves very well, worked as a team and we looked a lot better today than we have done in recent weeks.

"If we can continue to play and work like that I can't see any problem and we should turn it around really quickly."
