HIMLEY captain Greg Wright is keen to take the positives from his side's losing draw at Bridgnorth.

The skipper was full of praise for his players after their battling qualities came to the fore despite missing out on victory.

Wright's 42 helped the visitors to 146 after they'd been put into bat in difficult conditions.

Jamie Turner (3-39), Chris Boroughs (3-30) and Stuart Wedge (3-18) shared the wickets out as Bridgnorth struggled.

The home side eventually ended the rain-interrupted clash on 117-9 to take the winning draw.

Wright said: "The toss was always going to be important due to the amount of rain we had.

"We lost that and then had a few uncontrollable things go against us.

"It meant we had to dig deep and battle hard to get back in the game, which we did well.

"We made a few mistakes but it wasn't through a lack of effort.

"The sun then came out and dried the pitch for them and at one stage we were staring down the barrel. But we bowled and fielded brilliantly and really went at them and made life difficult.

"We fought so hard to get back in the game and I really couldn't be more proud. We could have won it at the end.

"We came off disappointed but when you look back we've had a great start and it was important not to lose.

"There are plenty of positives to take and we just need to make sure we don't take our foot off the gas."

Wright is looking for another determined display from his side when they go to Division One's bottom side Wellington this Saturday (noon start).

"We respect them as a team and as a club and know it won't be easy," he added.

"It's important we make sure we keep doing all the good things that we're doing."
