STOURBRIDGE super welterweight Sam Eggington will be out to impress this weekend when takes on Tanzanian fighter Hassan Mwakinyo over 10 rounds at the Birmingham Arena.

The pair will be featuring on the under card of Amir Khan's clash with Samuel Vargas who will be squaring up to each other in front of the Sky television cameras on Saturday evening.

Honest Eggington, who will be eager to impress, admitted he knew little about his Tanzanian opponents but said: “My coaches will tell me where he can be exposed and I will try to execute that.

“Training has gone really well, although I would have liked a bit more sparring – but then that's just me.

“Hopefully I can look good in front of the cameras. There can be no slip-up.”

As well as Khan versus Vargas and Eggington v Mwakinyo, there is a packed undercard this weekend.

Rowley Regis’ Jason Welborn will be taking on Tommy Langford in a British Middleweight Title rematch, Ryan Kelly defends the Midlands Area Super-Welterweight title he won in May against unbeaten Dordon man Kelcie Ball, and Super-Bantamweight star Gamal Yafai also appears on the bill.
