STOURBRIDGE Running Club hosted it's annual ultra race on Saturday.

A 34 mile race, called Bridge' to ‘bridge via ‘port, can be run solo or as a team of up to four runners along the river Severn from Bridgnorth to Stourport and along the Staffs & Worcs Canal to the Bonded Warehouse in Stourbridge.

Winner in the solo race was Richard Taylor, finishing in a course record of 4.16.33, followed by Trevor Symonds in 4.22.03 and James Wright in 4.24.04. First woman home was Rebecca Davey in 5.07.38.

In the relay race, Stourbridge produced a stunning performance winning the ladies' category (and also beating all male teams). Team Bean comprised of Chloe Pearson, Lara Pentreath, Dawn Nagle and Ann Kite and they finished in a total time of 4.29.27.

Stourbridge also had a team of Jean Brayshay, Claire Packer, Steve Burch and Rachel Batchelor finishing in 5.03.55. Tabatha Trigg, Sarah Trigg, Helen Evans and Lynda Dunn finished in 5.24.50, Alastair Mcintosh, Sarah Thompson, Dave Sheppard and Dot Bernasconi finished in 5.25.40 and Errol Cumberbatch, Terry Cranston, Andy Bernasconi and Mark Farnan finished in 5.25.40.
