WORCESTER City travel to Highgate United in the Midland Football League Premier Division tomorrow (3pm).

Here’s everything you need to know.

WHO ARE THEY?

Highgate has a long tradition in the Worcestershire Combination and Midland Combination.

The club is arguably most famous for the tragic passing of Tony Allden, the player who was struck by lightning during an FA Amateur Cup tie in 1967.

Nowadays United is seen as one of the leading lights in the Midland Football League with high-profile players such as ex-City striker Marco Adaggio and former professionals Sam Oji and Aaron Brown who also pulled on the blue and white.

WHAT SHOULD CITY EXPECT?

A robust test at one of the less salubrious Premier Division venues.

Sat 10th in the table, it has been a mixed bag for Ashley Pulisciano’s men to date.

A 4-1 MFL Cup beating by City was followed by defeat at Shepshed Dynamo yet Highgate returned to form in style in midweek, seeing off 10-man league leaders Ilkeston Town 3-1.

Lei Brown notched twice in that one, taking to 12 goals his tally for the season to date.

TEAM NEWS

Striker Jordan Harrison, who turned the game from the bench in the MFL Cup, is suspended following his red card against Desborough Town in the FA Vase.

Kyonn Evans, recently dual registered with Malvern Town, comes back into contention.

“With the departure of Tyler (Weir) and Jordan being suspended, Kyonn will be brought back into the squad,” said manager John Snape.

“It may be that we have another face or two but we will have to wait to see.”

WHAT THE MANAGEMENT THINK

“Highgate are probably going through a tough time given the impressive record they have set in the past couple of seasons,” said Snape.

“It was a good win at their place in the League Cup but there were changes to both sides. We finished that game very strongly and took our chances.

“We’re under no illusions, it will be a very hard and competitive match as it always is there.”

WE’VE MET BEFORE

City have won two and lost two against United since dropping into the Midland Football League.

This is the first league clash of this season and comes 10 days after City’s 4-1 success there in the second round of the League Cup.

Richard Batchelor’s low free-kick gave Highgate a 1-0 lead at the break only for debutant Cameron Walker, George Forsyth, Liam Lockett and star man Harrison to complete a stirring second-half fightback.

Adaggio scored one and set up another to dump City out of the FA Vase as Highgate won 2-1 in at the Victoria Ground last season, a score they repeated a week later in the league at The Coppice.

Goals from Mat Birley, Nick Turton and Alex Tomkinson sealed City’s revenge 3-0 in April.
