CRADLEY Heathens have secured new team sponsors for their return to a full season of National League racing.

Lye-based Anchor Logistics have joined forces with the Monmore Green club who will race for a 10th successive season after rising from the ashes in 2010.

David Turley of Anchor Logistics is a Heathens fan going back to the early 90s at their former Dudley Wood home watching World Champions Greg Hancock and Billy Hamill in action.

He’s remained a firm fan of the sport ever since and is now delighted to be joining the club and the team will now be known as the Anchor Logistics Heathens.

Club Director Nigel Pearson said: “We’re delighted to welcome Anchor Logistics on board, like our friends at Motor Market previous David is a Cradley fan and sees great value in backing the club.

“He’s also in ice hockey fan but loves his speedway and we are delighted that Anchor Logistics have invested in our sport.

“Like everyone else, Anchor Logistics would like to see the club back at a home in the area, but we all appreciate what Wolverhampton do for us to enable us to race.”

Turley, meanwhile, added: “It’s a proud moment for me personally and for Anchor Logistics to join Cradley as title sponsors.

“We are proud to have been providing companies in the area with freight forwarding services for the last six years.

“The management have done a great job in keeping the name alive without their own track and we are more than happy to support them in this.

“I’ve already seen the designs for the team race jacket and it will be a great moment for me to see our logo out there on the team at the opening meeting.

“Being based in Lye we are right in the heartbeat of the Cradley fanbase and we’re thrilled to be a part of such a unique club in the sport.”
