LYE Town boss Andy Wyton has praised the way his side fought back to beat Worcester City last Saturday.

Town found themselves behind in the second half but hit back thanks to a header from Sam Tye.

Adam Meacham then netted the winning goal in the 86th minute.

Wyton said: "I think we deserved the win in the end but we weren't at our best.

"What we did was find a way to win it despite that thanks to goals from Adam Meacham and Sam Tye.

"It was a poor first half from both teams really and the game never really got going.

"We then went behind in the second and for five minutes after that it looked like we wouldn't get back into it.

"But we did get back into it after a good cross from Joe Colley found Sam Tye.

"To win it after that was great and it's pleasing to do it when you don't think you're playing the best."

Meanwhile, the contest was overshadowed at full time when a skirmish broke out after a travelling fan allegedly abused one of the Lye Town staff members.

Wyton played down the incident and said the fracas was soon ended without police involvement and that City had since been in touch to confirm a supporter had been banned for the rest of this season.

Tenth-placed Town don't have a game this weekend and will next be in action when they host Boldmere St Michaels on April 20.
