STOURBRIDGE'S Sam Eggington bagged the IBF International super-welterweight title with a ruthless display in Italy.
The Savage put in an impressive performance at Florence's Tuscany Hall on Thursday night as he stripped Orlando Fiordigiglio of the belt with a second round stoppage.
Eggington had joy in the very first round as he soon got inside Fiordigiglio jab to land good shots as he varied his attack from the head to the body.
The big moment came after a big right rocked Fiordigiglio in the second. Eggington was soon smothering him against the ropes and a flurry of powerful shots forced the ref to call a halt to the contest.
The former European welterweight champion could now have fired himself back into world title contention after taking his opportunity in style as he firmly hit back after defeats to Hassan Mwakinyo and Liam Smith had left questions about what would be next for the Eastside Boxing Gym fighter.
