THE Herefordshire FA state that they are working to resolve legalities before they can open their new 3G pitch at the County Ground.

Work began on the 3G pitch at the end of June and it was due to take 16 weeks to complete.

During this time Lads Club’s first team have been playing all their Hellenic League Division One West league matches away from home.

Recently they have had to postpone several league and cup matches while the legalities have stopped the opening of the pitch.

Lads Club were due to host Holme Lacy in the Herefordshire County Challenge Cup this evening, with the winner playing Hereford FC, but this has also been postponed.

A statement on the Herefordshire FA website said: “Further to recent and ongoing speculation regarding the delay in the opening of our brand-new artificial grass pitch at the County Ground, we would like to make it clear that we are doing everything within our control to get the pitch open as soon as possible.

“Solicitors for both the association and Hereford Lads Club are working actively to resolve the legalities which would enable use of the pitch for Lads Club and the grassroots football community. This is ongoing and we hope to have some positive news soon.

“As an organisation we are committed to delivering on the community usage plan that we have in place and are looking forward to seeing the pitch in use throughout the week all year round.”
